Hello!  Heavily inspired by the recent BusinessWeek article, I'm working on converting my spacious office into a co-working facility. 

 

We're in the highly desireable Rittenhouse Square area, nearby a dozen bars/restaurants, 2 Wawa's, and within 2 blocks of 5 PhillyCarShare pods.

 

Offhand, it'll have a common greeting room, private bath and small kitchenette, and a large common office with (I'm guessing) 10 cubicle/desks.

Desks will be available by the day/week for reservation/walk in use.  Each desk gets it's own power and ethernet hookups.  We going against common stance and not providing phone lines, assuming cell phones and/or Skype calling should suffice most power users.

 

There are a million things to do to get it ready, include build said bathroom/kitchenette, hopefully we'll be up and running before April 1st.

 

I'll post more information, URL, etc. here as I get to them...

Hello for the third time!

April 1st is a joke (Pun intended.)  Here it is end of March (24), and nowhere near completion, with the bathroom being put off until after April 1 (and the downstairs neightbor evacuation).  So my proposed opening date was off.  From now on, i'm going to not post dates, as they make me less accountable.  With wiki edits, I figured I'm better off striking the line vs. changing it.

 

Nonetheless, still plowing ahead.  I hve registered a clever domain for this new company, and I'll post it here as this will be the new repository of data of this project as it move ahead.  I'm working on a temp site with before pictures, designs, initial pricing structures, etc.

I'm working on the site/hosting machine, as it will be a beast, managing a lot of details of the space, including access, wiki, reservations, etc.  So many services...so little time.  DNS may not be up and running yet, so access will be flaky, and this will probably get tossed around to different hosts as the system grows.
